Dahlia Tuber Sale Policies

Welcome to our Spring Dahlia Tuber Sale for 2025.

Please read through and acknowledge the terms of sale listed below prior to your purchase of our dahlia tubers. This will help you, understand our shops policies, prior to a sale event.

We have been growing dahlias for the past nine seasons, providing farm-gate bunches, dahlia posies, and dahlia buckets to our farm-gate stall so the surrounding community and visitors to the region can enjoy all the beautiful blooms.

We have been supplying dahlia tubers upon request, for the last 3 seasons for cut flower growers and home gardeners.

Our dahlia tuber collection has flourished over the years, with some 96 varieties now grown on the farm.  All our tubers are grown organically using regenerative practices with the help of our chickens, whom are free forage, and fertilise the dahlia garden beds at seasons end.

PURCHASE AND SALE

The tubers offered on the website for season 2025 / 2026 are subject to crop success and seasonal availability. We are unable to reserve tubers prior to a dahlia sale.

  • Please be respectful of the ‘Limits Policy’. Dahlia collections take years to curate, and we would like to give as many gardeners the opportunity to grow limited cultivars.
  • Limits are applied per household / business nominated shipping address and not per order. We reserve the right to refund any part of the order, that exceeds the stated limit of a cultivar.

  • Insects can be one source by where virus can be transmitted, and it is important to note  - virus can lay dormant in asymptomatic plants.

  • Dahlia tubers come in all shapes and sizes. They can be as small as a AA battery or as large as sweet potato!
  • The size of the tuber does not determine how healthy your plant will be or how well your flowers will bloom. Our preference is to select tubers that range from small to medium.
  • Your dahlia tuber will be placed in a 99.9% recycled, 10 cm x 21 cm x 5 cm gusseted paper bag . The bag will be labelled with the cultivar name of the tuber.
  •  A small amount of vermiculite/ potting medium will be added to the bag to stabilise the tuber in storage for the interim term during transit.
  • Your dahlia tuber(s) will be placed in a 99.9% recycled cardboard box.
  • Hex Wrap ( compostable and recycled ) will be added if required to prevent the tubers from shimmying around in transit.

CUSTOMER CARE

  • Dahlia tubers are live plant material. They are perishable and are at their most fragile time of life when they have been split into a singular tuber.
  • Once you receive your tubers and inspect them, please read the 'Dahlia Care Guide' provided in your package on how to treat tubers prior to planting.
  • The tuber packaging provided is for the interim use whilst shipping only. The packaging is not intended to keep your tuber viable prior to your nominated planting date.
  • Please determine how you plan to store your tubers.
  • Regularly monitor your tubers while they are being stored in your preferred medium, to ensure the stay in a viable condition prior to planting.
  • Every climate and soil type is different, and it is very important that you learn what works in your individual environment.
  • Dahlia tubers are best planted after your last frost has passed and should not be planted into saturated soil.  This ensures minimal risk of frost damage to tender shoots or from the dahlia tubers rotting, from over saturated soil.

LIMIT OF LIABILITY:

  • As mentioned previously, in 'Tuber Information' through the purchase of dahlia tubers, the buyer assumes all risk when buying dahlia tubers.
  • Once the tuber (s) is past the 7 day mark post delivery / or placed in the ground , Loganberry Farm will not be held responsible for  environmental factors that can contribute to the health and vigour of the plant. We are not responsible for tubers / plants failings to grow once they been planted, or if the storage instructions provided have not been followed.
  • Refunds will not be offered for change of mind before or after the 7 day grace period, unless the tuber(s) does not meet our own labelling requirements highlighted in the Refund Policy, and will not exceed the cost of the tubers themselves. Loganberry Farm is not required to issue a refund, and is not liable for any monetary value beyond the value of the purchased tubers in question.
  • By proceeding and completing your transaction at checkout, you agree to the policies stated above, and you are acknowledging that you are fully aware of these policies will be acted upon in a respectful manner.

KINDNESS

  • We treat people with respect and kindness and expect the same in return from of our customers. We understand dahlia tuber sales can be disappointing ( I have been there and shared in this emotion )  when you miss out on cultivars in a growing season.
  • I would like to highlight, we are a small regenerative family run egg and flower farm with a team of 2  people in the high summer season, fulfilling orders to the best of our abilities.
  • Please be kind, in the times of disappointment and respectful in the times when there may be a reason to amend / refund an order.

We thank you for your purchase of our dahlia tubers .

We do hope they give you as much joy, as what they have given us over the years.

We truly appreciate your support and wish you a beautiful gardening season ahead.
