Echinops is a globe thistle ( perennial plant) that produces blue spheres upon straight sturdy stems. 

Echinops starts flowering here from early - mid  summer right thru to Autumn. 

Loved by pollinators, these structural sphere heads can come either in a single stem of one sphere, or 2-4 spheres to one stem. 

Excellent as a dry cut flower for arrangements.

A mix of single and multiple sphere stems would be cut at time of harvesting and placed into either a bunch or flower bucket.
